Parisse will be free to play again on 18 March, after seeing red last weekend playing for his club Stade Francais against Bordeaux-Begles when he was dismissed for allegedly insulting match referee Laurent Cardona.
The ban, 40 days with 10 suspeneded, rules him out of Italy’s remaining RBS 6 Nations games this season against Wales, England and Ireland.
The No 8 was sent off after 36 minutes of Stade’s home match with Bordeaux-Begles, having scored a try in the fourth minute.
Italy coach Jacques Brunel had already called veteran flanker Mauro Bergamasco into his squad to face Wales.
