Like Rob Howley’s men, Les Bleus lost on the opening weekend of the RBS 6 Nations and go into Saturday’s clash under mounting pressure.
Williams reckons France will come out firing in Paris following their defeat to Italy.
“I’m sure they will be fired up but, saying that, we will be as well,” said the 22-year-old.
“So I’m sure it’s going to be a very good game on the weekend.
“We’ve got a lot of things to put right and I’m sure they have as well – we are desperate to get a win now.”
Wales still believe they can retain the Championship title and Williams believes they must win in any way possible.
“That’s all we need to do really is just get a win under our belt I think and I’m sure anything can happen in this competition then,” added the Scarlets centre.
“No one really remembers how you win the game. It’s if you won it or not really.
“You don’t ask how Chelsea won the Champions League. We just need to get a win. It doesn’t matter how we get it..
“I think we need to play open rugby. In the second half in Rome on the weekend, France gave up a bit.
“They looked as if their legs had gone. Fair play to Italy, they kept going at them.
“It just goes to show there are no pushovers in this competition. Everyone is competing for the top.”
