The first half saw Bedwas do almost all the attacking yet Hartridge led 7-6 at the break and held the lead until the 58th minute.
It was an explosive first period but when players were carded, it was Hartridge flanker Lewis Beresford who came out to play splendidly as an emergency full back.
Skipper and full back Kevin McCole put Bedwas ahead with a penalty after 24 minutes, but a sudden Hartridge counter saw No 8 Ros Palmer go clear on the wing for a try that fly half Rhys Yendle converted.
McCole pulled back three points with a penalty but Hartridge scrummed solidly, even though Bedwas had most of the ball.
A good-sized crowd saw replacement centre Tom Morgan eventually score in the corner and his second try from a long run seemingly sealed a Bedwas win at 16-7.
Bedwas countered again with fly half Matthew Minty scoring a good try from another long run-in and McCole converted.
Hartridge threw everything in and centre Andrew Oak appeared at the head of his pack to secure a good try, but McCole added a last-minute penalty to clinch the Bedwas win.
