The Head Coach for the two-test tour has named four new caps in his starting XV to take on Eddie Jones’ side.
And after quality preparation time together McBryde, who opened his press conference in Japanese, is excited about what the side can deliver.
“There is a lot of potential within this group,” said McBryde.
“As much as the players are looking forward to Saturday, we as a management group are really excited by it and are expectant of the performance.
“We have picked a group of players for their qualities, created a good environment and the momentum has really gathered.
“There is a good blend throughout the team and the run out against Kintetsu Liners earlier in the week was invaluable and was a great taste of what is was like to play at that tempo.”
Ospreys duo Dafydd Howells and James King, Scarlets hooker Emyr Phillips and Blues centre Owen Williams will all make their international bow at the weekend and McBryde is looking forward to seeing them in action.
“Dafydd has something I was always envious of as a player and that speed. He has shown throughout the season of how much of a threat he is and he has shown up really well in training.
“Emyr is a player I have worked with in the past and is a quality player. If you ask anyone at the Scarlets they haven’t got a bad word to say about him and he’s been fighting with Ken Owens for that berth at the Scarlets and it’s a great opportunity for him. It’s also worth stating that Scott Baldwin has made an impression and can count himself unlucky that he is not starting on the weekend.
“Owen Williams is a proven threat for the Blues and an invaluable member of the Welsh sevens squad. In the XV game he is good physically and defensively and has good potential in the build up to the World Cup.
“James has picked up awards at the Ospreys and really impressed during the Six Nations with his attitude and manner and stood out. He was unlucky not to get a bit of game time then and deserves this opportunity.”
