Touch leagues offer players of all abilities the chance to get involved in an alternative, free-flowing form of the game, one which has proved popular in Newport and the surrounding area.

Ben Rose, WRU lead officer for alternative games, said: “Touch is for everyone, it engages men and women, young and old, work colleagues, rugby clubs and friends in the sport of rugby.

“It’s a great way to socialise on summer nights. The WRU see touch as a social vehicle to engage different people to rugby or bring players back to the game.”

The home region of the Dragons has six teams of 10 entered in the Caerleon touch league which runs from May until the end of July.
