Rose has named a young but exciting looking squad for the Foster’s Sevens tournament on Sunday with the Ravens looking at a number of options ahead of the new season.
Jac Hopkins leads the squad with former Cardiff University forward Nicholas Huntley and ex Llandovery College student Owen Howe two men to watch out for.
Elsewhere, Ben Jones, who was named player of the tournament in a recent sevens competition, is another who could well be a surprise package.
“I’m pleased with everyone we’ve named in the squad for Sunday,” said Rose.
“We’ve got a few players to watch out for. Ben Jones is a good footballer who can certainly play while Nic Huntley is new to us this season. I’m looking forward to seeing how he goes.
“Owen Howe has come in from Llandovery College and he has a lot of footballing ability.”
Bridgend play Cross Keys in the third game of the day as the Ravens look to get off to a winning start.
“Cross Keys will be a good side with plenty of pace and power,” Rose added.
“Elliot Jones is quick and Reuben Tucker is a good player.
“We’ll be using this tournament to help make judgements for our British & Irish Cup qualifier against Neath next Friday.
“It’s a short turnaround for us but we’re looking forward to throwing the ball around on the new surface at Cardiff Arms Park.”
Bridgend squad for Foster’s National Sevens: Nicholas Huntley, Jac Hopkins (C), Dai Barry, Owain Lloyd, Scott Hicks, Ben Jones, Ryan Owen, Michael Kennedy, Owen Howe, Ryan Evans, Ben Thomas, Lewis Williams.
