Llanharan jumped into second place after a hard fought victory at home to Beddau. Tom Piper’s first half try took Llanharan into the break 7-3 up. Llanharan failed to capitalise on their chances and Beddau’s Dai Francis pulled them back into the game before Gabriel Davies’ late try gave Llanharan a deserved victory.
In form Pontypool suffered a shock defeat away to Narberth, despite leading at the break. A first half try from Pontypool’s Elliott Goodman was cancelled out by Narberth’s Johnny Morgan but Niall Martin’s boot ensured the visitors led at the break. Adrian Killa’s second half score and four penalties from the ever-reliable Michael Griffiths produced turned things around.
Braces from Andrew Williams and Hugh Grundy led RGC1404 to a 27-18 victory over Newbridge. Newbridge scored two tries, one of which came from second row Ethan Doyle. Newbridge were camped on the hosts’ try line for the final ten minutes before RGC1404’s Grundy scored with the last play of the game to seal the win.
Bargoed Park saw a thriller as Bridgend Athletic left with all the points after a narrow 29-27 win. Bargoed scored tries through Greg Callow, Darren Humphries, James Pizey and Steffan Jouxton. Tries from Jonathan Phillips and Dan Apsee kept Bridgend in touch and Steven Lewis kicked 16 points to snatch victory.
Tata Steel came out on top in a tight encounter with bottom of the table Bonymaen. Tata Steel scored the opening try with Robert Hill running over but Nathan Brookes’ try for the home side slashed their lead to just two points at half time 16-14. Ian Brookes and Gareth Walters scored penalties for either side as Tate Steel held out for 19-17 victory.
Cardiff Met climbed to third with an impressive home win against Blackwood. Pierre Tucker and Sam Cross scored the tries and Mark Cooke added four penalties for the students.
