Wales face Tonga in Cardiff in Friday night’s Dove Men Series (7.30pm) with 11 changes from the side that beat Argentina 40-6 last weekend.
The Welsh are six from six against the South Sea Islanders who visit Cardiff for the first time in 12 years and Paddy Power make the reigning RBS 6 Nations champions the 10/11 favourites (-24 points) in their handicap betting.
Wales were 51-7 winners back in 2001 and if you fancy predicting the winning margin, it’s 11/1 that the Welsh repeat the trick by winning by 41-45 points in Warren Gatland’s 100th Test game in charge as a coach.
However, with all the changes to the Welsh side and the game against Australia still to come, the 34-point winning margin against the Pumas might be a better guide. Wales are 15/2 with Paddy Power to win by 31-35 points after their first autumn series win in four seasons last weekend.
Leigh Halfpenny’s had his scoring boots on in recent weeks, kicking four penalties and four conversions to complement Wales’ four tries against the Pumas. He also kicked all five penalties in the 15-24 loss South Africa and Paddy Power make it 1/3 that the first try in the game is converted.
George North is the only try scorer to survive Gatland’s cull and is 5/1 with Paddy Power to go over the whitewash first against Tonga or 4/6 to score a try over the 80 minutes.
Newport Gwent Dragons’ Hallam Amos (19) will make his debut and lines up alongside North and Halfpenny in the backs. Amos is 13/2 to get the first try of the game or 11/2 to score first for his side. Tonga went down fighting in their 38-18 defeat to France last weekend with prop Sona Taumalolo getting a four-week ban after being sent off for punching French lock Yoann Maestri. Wales can expect the visitors to rely a lot on their physicality as they try to beat the handicap (-24 points) at 10/11.
Explosive ball carrier Fetu’u Vainikolo joined the Exeter Chiefs in the summer after two years with Connacht and is 20/1 to score the first try of the game with team-mate Viliami Helu at 22/1. Vainikolo is 9/2 to go over the line first for his side and 7/2 to score a try over the 80 minutes.
