With HRH the Duke of Cambridge the patron of the organisation, The Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust, which was set up in 1972, supports players and their families who have been severely injured whilst playing rugby football in Wales.
WRU President Dennis Gethin, who is also Chairman of the Trust, was presented with the cheque last week.
“Sadly one of the BP Llandarcy players suffered a severe injury and has been helped by the Charitable Trust,” said the WRU President.
“The Trust plays a vital role in trying to improve the quality of life of players who have suffered serious injuries.
“This amount of money from the club is something which will make a real difference moving forward.
“As usual, I must say that is a privilege to be involved with this organisation and I give my sincere thanks to the people involved for their donation.”
