The two schools clash in the round of the 32, reaching this stage after coming through ties at district and local level.
The match kicks off the next instalment of Rygbi Pawb, the S4C show dedicated to showcasing rugby development across Wales.
The live stream of Wednesday’s game can be seen on the S4C website from 2.25pm with kick off at 2.30pm. Highlights of the game, a feature on the Wales Under 18 side and a review of Principality Premiership action will be shown on Rygbi Pawb on S4C later that evening at 10.30pm.
“There has been a considerable increase in participation in the Welsh Schools Under 16 Cup this season and that’s down to a joined up approach by the Welsh Schools Rugby Union Intermediate Group and the WRU Player Development Officers on the ground,” said Adrian Evans, WRU Rugby Partnership Manager.
“As a result, it’s great to see the competition being screened on television, showing the development of schools rugby across Wales. It can only help the profile of rugby at this level.
“Glantaf and Treorchy are strong rugby schools who continually work hard on their rugby programmes. Both have produced players who have gone on to represent Wales with Jamie Roberts and Rhys Patchell representing Glantaf in this competition previously while Treorchy have developed the likes of Lou Reed and Andrew Bishop.”
Treorchy coach Alex Waring said: “It’s a great opportunity for the school and for school boy rugby in general as a whole.
“The boys are really looking forward to playing on television and it should be a great occasion. We’ve got a full strength side out and have a number of boys who have played for the region this season. Glantaf are in a similar position and I’ve got no doubts it’s going to be a thoroughly entertaining fixture.”
