Seb Jewell, Seb Stegmann, Peter Browne, Mitch Lees and Tom May remain from the side defeated 13-5 by Scottish at the Kassam Stadium on December 21.

It was Welsh’s second consecutive league loss, following defeat at Bedford Blues at the end of November, and saw them knocked off the top of the Greene King IPA Championship table.

One point behind leaders Bristol, Saturday trip to Jersey presents an opportunity to go back to the top of the table for Welsh.

In the backs, Alan Awcock comes into the side at outside centre, with Tom May moving to the number 12 jersey. Alex Davies and Chris Cook form a new half back pairing. Joe Ajuwa is named on the wing.

In the forwards, Nathan Trevett, Nathan Morris and James Tideswell make up a new look front row. Peter Browne is partnered in the second row by Mitch Lees, who moves from blindside flanker.

Carl Kirwan wears the number six jersey, having started at openside flanker against Scottish, with Mike Denbee starting at openside. Ollie Stedman comes into the side at Number 8.

On the bench, Billy Moss makes his 50th appearance for London Welsh.

“Our performance against Scottish was poor but with the missed opportunities we could still quite easily have won the game. But it isn’t just about the ‘W’ word; it’s about the performance and putting all of that back in place,” said head coach Justin Burnell.

“We’ve had the opportunity to really look at those last two performances and come back in this week, along with the players, and rectify those problems.

“Jersey are a very good side. We’ve done our research on them and they’ve had some good wins – they’ve beaten Bedford and Pirates at home. They’ve a very good set-piece and a good all round game.”
