Almost 24 hours after Wales take on France in the RBS 6 Nations at the Millennium Stadium, a Welsh Legends side clash with a French Legends XV, the two sides captained by Dafydd James and Serge Betsen respectively.
With temperatures still high from the previous evening’s match, both the Welsh and French Legends will be looking to relive their glory years at the home of the Cardiff Blues. Skipper James aside, the Welsh team will include Gareth Thomas, Gareth Cooper and Chris Wyatt.
For France, Betsen will be accompanied by legends Franck Comba, Marc de Rougemont and Thierry Devergie. The event, supported by Jonathan Davies and managed by Colin Charvis, promises to be an encounter to remember. World famous former rugby stars, totalling nearly 700 international caps, are set to resume their intense battles on the pitch in this fundraiser for The Prince’s Trust.
“This has been a fabulous opportunity for us to put on such a unique event in the capital of Wales, and on such a big weekend of rugby for both the Welsh and French people,” said Gavin Powell, Airbus Challengers Million Makers Team Chairman, who are raising money for The Prince’s Trust.
“We would love to see as many supporters there to cheer on their team”
Before the match, fans can gather and watch RBS 6 nations rugby screened live in the Arms Park fan zone. After the match, there is a great chance for fans to spend time with the players at the reception where there will be a charity auction, live music and guest speaker.
The Million Makers challenge sees staff from 80 companies nationwide competing to raise as much money as possible for The Prince’s Trust. The funds raised will help the charity to help disadvantaged young people into work, training and education.
Details of tickets, which start at £5, and the event can be found at www.WelshFrenchLegends.co.uk.
