The game will be refereed by one of the world’s top officials, Nigel Owens, and kicks off at Cardiff Arms Park at 3pm. The match is an integral part of the build-up to the Amlin Challenge Cup and Heineken Cup finals weekend in the Welsh capital.
Â
The game between St Teilos and Radyr is the culmination of a grassroots community rugby programme targeting young players developed by ERC, the WRU, Cardiff Blues and adidas.
Â
More than 100 players aged between 11 and 12 from seven schools in the Cardiff region recently took part in a qualifying festival as part of the programme which has been devised for schools which are not traditionally associated with the game.
Â
The final is bound to be an entertaining taster for the main events which feature the Heineken Cup clash of reigning champions, RC Toulon, and Saracens at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday, and the all-English Amlin Challenge Cup meeting of Bath Rugby and Northampton Saints the evening before at the Arms Park.
Â
The European Champions Village situated outside Cardiff Castle will be the focal point for a gathering of fans, both local and overseas from midday on Saturday. The Village will have live music, interactive games, a Heineken Cup trophy photo booth, a big screen, Heineken bars and local cuisine as well as special guests from the world of rugby.
