Huge public demand has seen the Probables versus Possibles fixture reach capacity as supporters flock to see the first national trial in 14 years.

Rob Howley’s Probables side will take on Robin McBryde’s Possibles at 19.05 this evening with the match live on BBC 2 Wales.

Any profit from the game, together with a modest donation, will be provided to the Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust.

The capacity crowd at the Liberty Stadium for the Wales Senior Trial has been praised as a measure of the support for international rugby in Wales.

WRU Group Chief Executive, Roger Lewis, said: ”I am delighted the stadium has been sold out for the Wales Senior Trial as it shows there is a huge appetite for top class rugby in Wales.

“This is a game when rugby fans will be able to watch some fantastic action and also make up their own minds who they think deserves to be on the plane to South Africa in the national squad.

“I must pay tribute to our WRU marketing team for ensuring the public was kept fully informed of this opportunity to watch the best rugby players in Wales.

“It is a great rugby event for the Liberty Stadium and ensures that even more rugby fans are exposed to the best our game can offer.”

Liberty Stadium General Manager Andrew Davies commented, “We were delighted to be asked by Welsh Rugby Union to host this fixture and it is clear from  the fantastic response from supporters that there was an exceptional demand for this event. The game is now a sell out and therefore our focus will now be on delivering an exceptional event for those who attend.

“To assist us with this supporters travelling to the game are asked to refer to the Welsh Rugby Union and Liberty Stadium websites for travel and parking arrangements, and we would ask that everyone make every effort to get to the Stadium as early as possible to reduce the impact on the local road and transport network.

“Supporters who have paid for tickets online or over the telephone but who have not yet received them are asked to go to the Liberty Stadium Ticket Office any time before the game this evening to collect their tickets. Given the large number of tickets that have been sold in the last 48 hours the number of tickets to be collected is significant so again the earlier supporters can attend the Ticket Office to collect their tickets the more likely we are to reduce queuing time. I would like to thank supporters in advance for their cooperation on this, and look forward to a great game this evening.”
