More than 500 children from 17 primary schools took part in the Beach Tag Rugby Festival at Rest Bay, Porthcawl. For many of the children it was their first experience of rugby.
Organiser, WRU participation officer Mikey Williams said, “Events such as this give children a positive first taste of the game and hopefully give children an appetite to continue playing rugby in rugby clubs and schools, and generate a life-long love of the national game.
“There is a rich rugby tradition in the Bridgend area and we would like to thank the primary schools that took part and the tag rugby leaders from Pencoed and Porthcawl Comprehensives who volunteered to help run activities on the day.
