‘Robbo’ was a firm fans favourite during his playing days playing all his rugby in Blue & Black. His playing career spanned 16 years and 384 First XV games. He also played 178 games for the Athletic XV.
Robbo gained two Welsh caps in 1974 against France and England. At 6ft 6in he was the tallest lock in his day to wear the red jersey. He also represented the Barbarians and Crawshays XV.
One of the hardest men on the field, off the field he was a gentleman and was happy to talk rugby to anyone he met. In recent years he was a very active and valued member of the Cardiff Rugby committee.
