Bargoed stretched their unbeaten run to eight games as they ran in nine tries against the students of Cardiff Met to stay four points clear of Swansea at the top of the SWALEC Championship.

The visitors were taught a torrid lesson as they lost the first half 28-0 and the second half 33-12. Ross Coombes scored twice for the home side and Josh Prosser landed six of the eight conversions.

Blackwood had eleven points from the boot of Scott Turner to thank for their 21-7 win at Newbridge while Narberth came from behind at Tondu to win 22-17.
 
Merthyr maintained their winning ways in a hard fought 12-3 home win over Bridgend Athletic. They had a try in each half, one of which Steve Lang converted.
 
There was agony for Llanharan as they outscored Glynneath by two tries to one yet lost at home 13-12. Jack O’Reilly was the visitors’ hero as he converted James Pikes’ try and added two penalties.
