Bridgend have used October as an opportunity to continue momentum following a stunning win over Newport at the start of the month. Despite a disappointing defeat at Neath, Bridgend produced a much improved performance in a narrow defeat to Llanelli before comprehensively beating Neath in the return match at the Bridgend Ford Brewery Field (13-5).
Bridgend’s record against Llandovery is not particularly positive. Bridgend did however, come back from heavy half time deficit last season to record a draw against the Drovers in the corresponding fixture last campaign. A last gasp Ross Jones penalty gave Bridgend a valuable result which culminated in a comfortable survival from relegation.
Paul Young and Mike Hook name a strong squad despite the omission of several regional players. It is largely unchanged from the squad which played in the set of October friendlies, and the coaches will be hoping that they can continue the form which saw them beat Neath last weekend.
Bridgend Ravens: Ryan Evans, Mike Powell, Tom Morgan, Adam Williams, Tom O’Flaherty, James Dixon (c), Chris Williams; Gary Carpenter, Matthew Dwyer, Cai Lewis, Rhyd Gierat, Ben Jones, Adam O’Driscoll, Zac O’Driscoll & Scott Hicks.
