The Gwent region crumbled to a 38-12 defeat against the Munstermen on Friday night despite leading 9-7 at half-time.
It’s a fourth straight defeat in the Pro12 for the struggling Dragons. Fans at Rodney Parade vented their anger with a chorus of jeers for Lyn Jones’ side at the final whistle.
“It’s not nice to hear that,” admitted South African lock Landman. “I’ve seen signs we can turn it around, we just need to work a bit harder and make them proud.
“Every teams needs their supporters to be positive. But we need to give them something on the field. We owe them a big performance.”
The Dragons have managed just one league win this season against lowly Treviso. In their last five fixtures in all competitions they’ve managed a total of just 19 points in the second half of games.
Summer signing Landman has taken over the captain’s armband after former Wales international Lee Byrne was ruled out until March with a shoulder injury. He admits he is already feeling the pressure to stop their slide.
Landman said: “I want to get some wins on the board as captain. I’ve just got the one, which is not a good picture for me. I want to more.”
Director of Rugby Lyn Jones said his Dragons deserved to be booed after suffering their fourth defeat in five home games.
He said: “You play well you get cheered off, you play badly you get booed off. People pay their money and are entitled to make their choice.
“We stopped them getting their game going but with so much possession and territory we should have been 19-7 up, not 9-7.
“But second half we got outdone; they put the pressure on us, we couldn’t get out of our 22 and as they scored more points our heads dropped.”
