After achieving promotion from the Championship the ‘Steelmen’ have impressed by winning five out of their six matches to date. It appears that their game is based on a strong pack of forwards and they are expected to be very competitive in that area on Friday.
In recent season’s fixtures between the two clubs have predominantly been in pre-season friendlies at Eugene Park, which Carmarthen won narrowly.
The Quins management and squad will be pleased with last Saturday’s dominant performance against Cardiff which they won 27-9 and, were unlucky not to have secured a bonus point. The Quins will have no intention of relinquishing their unbeaten position and a win would see them go above Ebbw Vale in the table.
The Quins are also expected to play their normal attacking style of rugby and will no doubt pose Ebbw Vale the toughest challenge they have faced this season.
Quins have a full complement of backs with the hugely experienced Lee Williams, Craig Evans and Chris Banfield on the bench. In the forwards Shaun Jones has been called up by the Scarlets and Haydn Pugh remains injured.
Lee Taylor and Aidan Laxton make up the second row with Javan Sebastian starting in the front row whilst Gethin Robinson drops to the bench. The back row is unchanged.
