Wales were so close again against the Wallabies but Bernard Foley sealed a tenth straight win over Warren Gatland’s men with a late drop goal.
Wales outscored the Michael Cheika’s men four tries to three in-front of 55,004 roaring fans at the Millennium Stadium, but errors cost them a famous win.
But Webb has remained positive, and insisted his side can turn this year’s Dove Men Care Series around against Fiji next week.
He said: “We were so close again, but we’re not going to dwell on it, we’re going to take the positives. Our start was very impressive and outscoring the Aussies was very impressive too.
“But we’ve got to cut-out our errors and hopefully we can turn it into a successful Autumn. There’s a lot of disappointment in the changing rooms as the result was there for us. But all the problems that let the Wallabies win today are fixable and we’ll prepare for Fiji now.”
“I’m upbeat about the rest of the campaign, we’ll regroup on Monday and take the good things out of that match.”
Fiji come to town next Saturday with a Wales scalp in their sights. The Pacific Islanders are also a Pool stage opponent for the men in red at next year’s Rugby World Cup.
And Webb is ready to put friendships behind him in order to kick-start their Autumn campaign.
He said: “It’s funny to see Josh Matevesi at outside-half, I’m not too sure what to expect. Fiji are a strong team who like to play with the ball and we know how dangerous they can be so we’ll prepare for that all week and get our Autumn up-and-running.”
