The senior sides’ RBS Six Nations meeting at the Millennium Stadium on Friday 6th February will be followed a day later by the Wales Under 20s side taking on England U20s at Parc Eirias on Saturday evening (Kick-off 7.30pm) and tickets to watch the U20s are now on sale.
Wales’ younger charges face England first up at home after going down 67-7 to them at Kingston Park last season, as they launch a bid to better their third place finish in the 2014 Under 20s Six Nations Championship.
The North Wales venue has been turned into something of a fortress for the Welsh youngsters, who are unbeaten against Scotland, Ireland and Italy there, since moving all home fixtures up North in 2011.
The next step would be to beat England, or France, at the home of RGC 1404 and they will be looking to recreate some of the magic of their last outing – against Scotland, which they won 43-15 – when the likes of newly capped Ospreys prop and Newport Gwent Dragons prospect Tyler Morgan featured in the squad.
Alongside Smith, the U20s has proved to be a production line for the senior side with players like Hallam Amos, Samson Lee, Rhodri Williams and Cory Allen all coming through the age group representative side.
Wales’ other home Six Nations match next year will see Ireland visit Parc Eirias on the night before the senior clash at Millennium Stadium, on the evening of Friday 13th March (Kick-off 7.45pm) – a fixture which last year saw Wales secure a 16-0 win.
“Wales versus England matches are always top box office attractions and the U20s clash at Parc Eirias will be no exception,” said WRU Group Chief Executive Roger Lewis.
“Our U20s have been playing their home matches at the home of RGC 1404 since 2011 and the move has been a resounding success for rugby in North Wales as well as for the junior squad.
“Under 20s rugby is a production line for the senior side and those fans who support Wales at Parc Eirias can be proud of the role they play in reinforcing that process.
“With both England and Ireland coming to Colwyn Bay the fans have some great rugby to look forward to in 2015.”
Tickets for both matches are on sale now from the official WRU website, from http://venuecymru.co.uk or tel: 01492872000, with prices frozen at 2014 rates meaning adult seated tickets are £15 with £10 concession and stand tickets are £10 with £5 concession.
Hospitality is available at £100pp (inc VAT) from Richard Orme: 01492 577914, richard.orme@eirias.org.uk and both matches will be shown live on television, with the England game featuring on S4C and the Ireland game to be shown on BBC Wales.
