A 33-14 bonus point home win over Aberavon last night was enough to take Ponty into an unassailable lead at the head of the Premiership table. As a consequence, Ponty have guaranteed themselves a home tie in the Premiership Play-off final.
Senior Coach Paul John was mightily proud of his squad’s efforts after the Aberavon win.
“This is a tremendous achievement” said John. “The players have set a great example and the values held by this group are second to none. There is a camaraderie amongst the squad that sees everyone pulling together in every game, and the consistency that we have achieved is notable.

Pontypridd were always in control of the game against the Wizards, storming in to a 26-0 lead at the break.
Number 8 Jake Thomas scored a brace with Dale Stuckey and Luke Crocker also crossing in the first spell. Aled Summerhill increased the lead in the second half before Aberavon gained two consolation tries through Chris Davies and Joe Tomalin-Reeves with Ceiron Thomas adding the conversions.
