The Drovers will be looking for a double having convincingly won earlier in the season at Church Field in December when Newport were reduced to 14 men.
Full-back Geraint O’Driscoll who has taken over the problem No 10 position in recent matches, has already passed 200 points for the season in all official matches – he was last season’s record Premier League Points scorer.
He now sits on 549 points in the three seasons he has been with the Black & Ambers. A further 51 points in the remaining three league games would see him reach 600 points in his Newport career which is a milestone that less than a dozen players have reached to date in their Newport careers – even the great Keith Jarrett did not reach this milestone scoring 584 points in his 82 Newport appearances. A further 27 points would see Geraint reach 500 points for Newport in Welsh Premier matches only.
Newport welcome back hooker Will Evans from injury for his first appearance since October 2014 but captain Ollie Griffiths sits out due to a dead leg picked up in his last match against Cross Keys. Two front row permit players appear on the bench – Matt Prosser (Pontypool) and Meurig Davies (Treorchy).
