So far this season the sides have met on two occasions with both encounters played at Carmarthen Park. The first was a British and Irish play-off on 6th September which the Quins won 37-13 and the second was on 27th December in the league which the Quins also won 29-7.
This however, as always, is a local derby and historically Llandovery tend to win at home against Carmarthen. Both sides will acknowledge indifferent league form in 2016 and will be looking to finish the run in to the end of the league campaign on a positive note.
There are several changes to the Quins team that beat Newport last Saturday. Gavin Thomas starts on the wing in place of Jason Harries while Morgan Griffiths comes in at 12, with Rhys Williams dropping to the bench.
A new half back pairing sees Connor Lloyd and Dan Jones both return from injury. In the forwards Shaun Evans makes his first start for the Quins and joins Lee Taylor and Rory Gallagher in the back row.
Carmarthen Athletic products Jevan Sebastian, Ryan Elias and Steff Phillips form a completely new front row.
The captain for the day is Iolo Evans with Ian Jones also on the replacements bench. The coaching staff have clearly put their faith a number of young guns and everyone associated with the Quins hopes they will perform well in front of the cameras.
