Head coach Simon Davies has taken two squads of 25 to the Somerset school event, the teams given the names Wales Druids and Wales Celts for the purpose of the week-long tournament.
Each team will play three uncapped games this week – the only international Test for the side coming on Sunday 19 April against England at the Caerphilly Centre for Sporting Excellence at Ystrad Mynach.
The Celts begin their Wellington campaign against England South West today (11am) while the Druids play France West at 4pm. On Wednesday, the Druids play England Midlands at 11am while the Celts play Scotland at 2pm and on Saturday, the Celts play England North at 11 and the Druids play England London & South East at 2.30pm.
Simon Davies said, “This is a fantastic competition for the development of players. It’s great to be able to play three games with 50 players before we narrow down the squad ready for the Test against England on April 19.
“The squads are evenly matched, although we have made sure there is a regional balance across both sides.”
