The winger sped over for a try in a Judgement Day triumph over the Cardiff Blues that showcased the Ospreys’ ability to strike at any moment. The next side to arrive in Swansea are the Glasgow Warriors, who, like the Ospreys, have already sealed their place in the PRO12 semi-finals.
But this is no end-of-season dead-rubber, with the victor likely to take pole position in the battle for a home semi-final. And Grabham says the competition in the back division is driving them on to the Kingspan Stadium final.
He said: “Each of us drives each other’s standards, creating a competitive environment. It’s massive. The top four teams are all gunning for home semis, and we know how good Glasgow are, having had a tough game up there earlier in the season.
“But we are playing at home and that is always a big plus. The hope is we get a big crowd in to give us an extra spur.”
Canadian wing Jeff Hassler is fit and ready to return should Grabham lose his place, which looks unlikely after finishing from 20 metres out at the Millennium Stadium last weekend. And Graham reckons they have the perfect blend behind the scrum.
He said: “It was more pleasing for me to finish off a team move. The boys did really well to create the space. It was something we’d worked on throughout the week, so it was really good just to get on the end of a team play like that.
“A score like that doesn’t happen unless everyone knows their roles and executes them, as the boys did at the Millennium Stadium.
“It is a young back division, but there’s experience there as well, with Rhys Webb and Dan Biggar driving standards, Josh Matavesi in midfield and Dan Evans at full-back. When we filter in that bit of youth we blend well and work together.”
