Ten or so more players linked up with the squad for the first time on Monday after their four-week rest period came to an end.
Monday and Tuesday followed a similar theme to week one, with the squad split into two groups moving from conditioning sessions, to skills blocks to a weight session. The intense morning mean the players are done by the early afternoon, ready to start it all over again the next day.
After the usual Wednesday recovery day, the squad were back in on Thursday for another round of conditioning.Â
Thursday was also the first media session of the campaign! Two hours were set aside for media duties following training which kicked off with head coach Warren Gatland holding a top table media session for the press.
That was followed by broadcast interviews for Rhys Patchell, a chat with the papers for Hallam Amos and Scott Baldwin doing the Sunday features. WRU TV then collected a few more interviews for items later in the week.
There was a different feeling to training on Friday, with Strongman Sports Day taking over the morning session.Â
The squad was split into four teams and went through a range of gruelling strongman activities, designed to test and work them physically, as well as have the added advantage of a team building exercise during a fun session.
Car pushes, tug of war and bike sprints were just s few of the activities on the agenda!
The afternoon saw the squad wrap up week two with a hike up Pen y Fan in rather wet conditions!
