The Bedwas result was disappointing, however the squad got back to winning ways last Saturday by scoring five tries and 40 points against Neath. After indifferent form in 2014/15, Aberavon have got off to a good start this campaign with wins against Cardiff and Bedwas.
The honours were even last season with Aberavon winning in the Park in the pre-Christmas fixture and Carmarthen the victors at the Talbot Athletic Ground in April.
As with last week’s fixture the Quins cannot afford to lose two out of three home fixtures, particularly as their next opponents will be Pontypridd away. Last Saturday was a competent performance and they will need to build on that to maintain a position in the top half of the table.
The squad shows seven changes to the starting line-up. Tom Williams starts at full back in place of Dale Ford who drops to the bench. Rhys Williams renews his midfield partnership with Iolo Evans, who impressed against Neath, whilst Scarlets outside half Aled Thomas replaces Craig Evans (who also played well against Neath). Kieran Hardy returns at scrum half.
In the forwards the back row and second row remain unchanged whilst the management have opted to start a completely new front row with Will Taylor, Ryan Elias and Nathan Williams. Captain Ian Jones is on the bench as is Wales Under 20 cap Kieran Hardy.
