Third-placed Bedlinog held out for an important 20-10 victory over fourth placed Brynmawr in Division One East. Tries from back-rower Luke Morgan and centre James Powell put the Foxes 14 points up in the first 10 minutes.Â
The Mawr were unable to stop the home team claim their seventh victory in eight games.
There was a closely fought 16-14 win for Blaenavon over league leaders Penallta at the Recreation Ground. A try from wing Luke Challenger was enough for the home team to put an end to the Pitmen’s recent good form.
Nant Conwy ran out 21-13 winners at Abergele in Division One North. The league leaders came back from 13-11 deficit to strengthen their position at the top of the table.
Third-placed Llandudno battled their way to a 31-17 win against Llangefni at Cae Smyrna. Flanker Kelvin Davies, on permit from RGC, went over for one of Llandudno’s four tries.
Felinfoel cemented their place at the top of Division One West with a 22-10 win over Gorseinon. The 12-point win means ‘Foel have now won seven of their last nine games.
Bonymaen fought hard to beat Ystalyfera 12-8 at Parc Mawr. After leading 7-0 at half-time through wing Joe Millen, the visitors hit back with a try from powerful prop Gareth Jones. Number eight Rhys Leonard then scored to seal the win for the home team.
Trebanos recorded a 27-15 away win against out of sorts Skewen. There were six tries split evenly in a game that was stopped for 40 minutes after Skewen’s David Hughes suffered a dislocated hip at Tennant Park. Â
