The new logo marks the naming-rights of the national stadium, which will be renamed Principality Stadium from January 2016.
The Principality Stadium brand also represents a significant commercial partnership which aims to develop and grow all aspects of Wales’ national game.
Following the launch of the partnership earlier this year, the WRU and Principality undertook an extensive scoping process to design and create the Principality Stadium brand.
The logo revealed today was selected by representatives from communities across Wales at an exclusive event at the home of Welsh rugby.
Former international captain Ryan Jones was among a panel of voters, including staff and members from both organisations and independent personnel, to choose from a shortlist of three potential designs.
The new stadium logo takes its inspiration from the venue’s iconic architecture; four spires, curved frontage and fully-retractable roof.
The logo is bilingual across all its trademarks, featuring the word ‘Stadium’ and its Welsh translation ‘Stadiwm’, reflecting both organisations’ commitment to the Welsh language.
From today, the logo will appear in the hands of the rugby fans purchasing tickets for Welsh rugby’s Judgement Day IV regional double header at the ground in April 2016.
Practical work is already underway to change all logo and brand references for what has been the Millennium Stadium since 1999.
The logo will be used at various locations around the ground and will be used on all WRU and Principality Building Society platforms from the New Year.
The external signage for Principality Stadium will be officially unveiled to the public on Friday 22 January, before its first major event – Wales’ RBS 6 Nations clash with Scotland on Saturday 13 February.

“We engaged a varied panel of stakeholders for the final selection process, featuring staff, members and former players, as it was important for all parties that we ended up with an image that fans of Welsh rugby and potential visitors from around the globe could both understand and relate to.
“The stadium is the pride of Wales, a world class sports and entertainment destination. The logo uses its unique architectural features in a stylised form to represent and celebrate the pride and passion of Principality Building Society and the WRU.”
