The Foxes left it late yet again as they came from behind with a try from No 8 Robson Blake three minutes from time to put themselves beyond the reach of Penallta at the top of the table. They have a seven point lead, a game in hand and the runners-up have one game to go.
Penallta at least got the bitter disappointment of losing with the last kick of the game to Bedlinog last weekend by taking out their anger on Brecon 48-17. Three tries from Joe Scrivens clinched second place with another bonus point win.
Reigning champions Pwllheli snatched the lead in the race for the title in Division 1 North, beating Bala 27-10. Tries from Tom Parry, Huw Williams, John Pugh and Dafydd Brunelli propelled the visiting side to the top of the table, one point ahead of Nant Conwy.
The two teams have to travel away for their final games. Nat Conwy, who finished as runners-up last season, head to fifth placed Bethesda on 11 May, while Pwllheli go to fourth placed Llandudo three days later.
The bottom two teams also met, with Llangefni beating Dolgellau 57-12. Wing Rhys Hughes enjoyed his afternoon kicking six conversions and bagging a try, while Gethin Andrews grabbed a hat-trick.

The struggles of bottom-placed Tenby United continued, as they were battered 80-12 by Crymych. Full-back Tom Turner scored three of the Preseli side’s 12 tries, and scrum-half Rhys Davies scored 25 points with 10 conversions and a try of his own.
Trebanos sealed third place in Division 1 West Central with a 26-12 win over Ystalyfera with tries from Rhodri Williams, Mike Phillips, Rhys Thomas and David Skone. Outside half Christian Jones added three conversions
The Division 1 East Central champions Glamorgan Wanderers were pipped by a point at mid-table Heol y Cyw, who overturned a huge first-half deficit to emerge triumphant, 28-27. A try by wing Ryan Griffiths pushed the Cockerels into the lead and they were able to hang on to inflict only the third defeat of the season on the Wanderers.
Elsewhere, second-placed Ystrad Rhondda lost 24-19 to Mountain Ash, bringing St Joseph’s within four points of second place after their 42-22 victory over Llanishen.
