Pooler were the highest ranked side not to be promoted to the Principality Premiership last season, finishing behind winners Merthyr – Swansea, Bargoed and RGC 1404, and one spot ahead of rivals Beddau, who travel to Tata Steel for their own Round One opener over the weekend of 3rd September.
Elsewhere in the Championship last season’s Division One East champions Bedlinog host Division One East Central champions Glamorgan Wanderers, while Division One West champions Dunvant also enjoy a home tie against Newbridge.
Division One West Central champions Skewen host Glynneath and Cardiff Met travel to Newcastle Emlyn. The National Cup competition first round begins on the weekend 28th January 2017, with the final held at Principality Stadium on 16th April, alongside the National Plate and National Bowl competition finals.
Fixtures in the National League Division Three West A and B, have been temporarily withheld pending an appeal from Tregaron, which will be held later this week, and Divisions One, Two and Three in North Wales are also to be published in the next few days.
