The Division 3 West B club enjoyed a famous day out at the Principality Stadium in May with their 20-18 win over Taffs Well and had a bye in the first round. They will kick-off their defence against Division 3 West Central B side Banwen, who also had a bye in the first round.

Burry Port have recruited former Scarlets outside half Ceiron Thomas as a player/coach this season and his game management skills have been very much to the fore in their two league wins this season. Thomas joined from Division 1 West side Llangennech having previously enjoyed a highly successful career with the Scarlets, Leeds Carnegie, Cornish Pirates, Cardiff and Aberavon.

Former champions Wattstown, have been rewarded for their 59-8 home win over Pentyrch in the first round with a second game at home in round two. An eight try triumph kept the 2013 winners on course for another possible trip to the home of Welsh rugby at the end of the season, although a Cardiff University side coached by ex-Wales lock Andrew Coombs now lays in wait for them.

Last season’s beaten finalists, Taffs Well, head to Caerau Ely thanks to their hard-fought 27-22 over Abercwmboi, while 2014 runners-up Llantwit Major’s reward for a 26-20 home win over Fairwater is another home tie against Canton.

The 2015 runners-up, Cambrian Welfare, who were beaten 14-11 in last season’s semi-finals by Taffs Well, host Cowbridge.
