Bonymaen over took Aberavon Quins at the summit of the West Central after a thriller at Parc Mawr. Kyle Salter bagged a brace of tries in a pulsating top of the league bout.

The hosts struck first through Ian Brooks who converted his own score before Mark Sheppard replied with a penalty. Nathan Brooks found Bonymaen’s second, as Sheppard added three penalties to tie the game 12-12 at the break.

Despite going down to 14, Jordan Condon crossed for Quins to put them into the lead. Salter scored his first, before Sheppard slotted another penalty.

But Salter touched down for the bonus-point with Richard Cunnisse putting the seal on the victory late on.

East leaders Rhydyfelin brushed off a Ynysybwl comeback to come out 26-17 victors. The visitors cruised into the lead, with Kieron Phillips, Lukke Rees and Chris Phillips running in tries. But the hosts clambered their way through Dewi Morris and Matt Griffiths. But, Rhydyfelin held in and found a late try to remain top.

Adam Humphries scored twice as Nelson beat Penallta in a bruising affair. Outside half Matthew Brewer scored four penalties for the hosts, but Humphries’ second in the final five minutes stole the visitors the points to extend Nelson’s lead ahead of Penallta in second in the league.

Nant Conwy were made to work hard as they clawed their way back from a 13-7 half-time deficit to beat Bala 31-16.

Ilan Rowlands scored Bala’s first-half try with Rhydian Jones adding eight from the boot. Jack Moriarty replied and the hosts ran in four more tries tries from Carwyn Roberts, Tom Oliver, Sion Pringle and fly-half Delwyn Jones.

Pwllheli kept tabs with the leaders, though, after their 27-10 win away at Caernarfon to maintain their unbeaten run.

In the East Central Treorchy maintained their lead at the top with a 29-14 win at Dowlais, whilst Heol y Cyw and Llanharan shared the spoils in a 10-10 stalemate. Mountain Ash are six points behind Treorchy after their comfortable 22-10 win at basement boys Llantwit Fardre.

In the West it was a similar story as Kidwelly continued their run in first place as they beat Aberystwyth 39-29 in a high-scoring affair. Llanelli Wanderers are stalking just two points behind the leaders after they were made to work hard in a 21-18 win against Felinfoel. And Loughor head up the table after they narrowly lost 13-10 away at Gorseinon.
