Webb, who suffered an ankle injury against Australia last November, has played 97 minutes of rugby for his region over the course of the last two weeks, captaining the team on both occasions.
And as attentions turn to Wales’ RBS 6 Nations opener with Italy on Sunday, head coach Rob Howley has received a boost with the news Webb says he’s ready to feature in Rome.
“I’m 100 per cent fit and I’m loving it at the moment,” said Webb. “I’ll go back into camp and train with the boys. I’m not just going in there to make up the numbers. I’ll be going in there to fight to get my jersey back. I feel fit, I feel ready, and I’m raring to go.”
Webb played the first 40 minutes of the Ospreys’ 20-14 win over Bristol in Bridgend, but says he’s ready to turn out for a full 80 minutes against the Azzurri, if selected by Howley.
“I’ve played two games and haven’t felt at all like I needed to come off. I feel confident. I know my own body and what I can do,” Webb added.
“I’ve had plenty left in the tank. International rugby is a step-up, but I’ve been training really well with the boys.”
Wales have plenty of strength in depth in the scrum half position, with Scarlets duo Gareth and Aled Davies providing competition for Webb.
Two of those three will make the trip to Italy, and Webb added: “I’ve had a break, injuries seem to happen all the time with me but I’m motivated, fit, and raring to go.
“It’s going to be a cracking Six Nations. All the teams are strong and Italy had a cracking win over South Africa in the autumn. We know what they can do but we’ll just concentrate on ourselves and what we can do.”
