The Black & Ambers simply needed a win to seal the title and Richard Pearce’s second-half  try proved just enough as they staged a mighty comeback from a 21-10 interval scoreline and 26-17 second half deficit.
Coaches Robert Walters and Mark Jones saw their side hit back to score three second half tries to bag a bonus point and make it more than 20 tries in the last three games to clinch the league title with two games left to play as second placed Llanelli Wanders fell 28-25 at Felinfoel.
Daf Lewis opened the scoring with a try before the hosts marched back to make it 14-7. Gareth Rees kicked a penalty to narrow the gap but Aber crossed before the break to hold that 21-10 advantage.
Shaun Pearce went over after the interval and outside half Rees scored another to close the gap at 26-22 before flanker Pearce stole the show for Kidwelly in the last quarter. The champions will now complete their season with trips to Llangennech and Loughor.
Rhydyfelin closed in on the Division 1 East title with a resounding 44-6 victory against Ynysybwl. Mark Tyler crossed for a hat-trick of tries to push his side 11 points clear at the summit.
Sam Studley opened the scoring in between two Ynysybwl penalties before Rhydyfelin put their foot down. Chris Phillips went over and then Jordan Rees dived in for his 32nd try of the season – a club record.
Josh Hawkins found the bonus-point score and Tyler put the cherry on top with a quick-fire hat-trick in the second-half. If they can win at lowly Nantyglo on 29 April, Rhydyfelin will claim the title with a game to spare.
Things are heating up in Division 1 West Central with the top five teams split by a mere four points. Maesteg Quins shot to the top with a 40-7 thumping of rivals Maesteg, while Aberavon Quins battled out a 12-12 draw with favourites Bonymaen, who have two games in hand.
Treorchy have won the Division 1 East Central title, but were able to pop the champagne with a hard-fought 34-31 win at home against Dowlais. At the other end of the table, Heol y Cyw eased their relegation fears with a 35-30 victory away at Llanharan.
But the battle against the drop will heat up in the final two weekends with Cardiff Quins – who currently occupy the relegation spots with Llantwit Fardre – having two games in hand.
In the fight for the Division 1 North crown, both Nant Conwy and Pwllehli secured wins. Conwy beat Bala, 36-13, while Pwllheli, who have a game in hand and trail by three points, won 48-34 at home to Caernarfon.
