Coached by Daryl Morgan and managed by former Wales prop Jenny Davies, the Welsh team went undefeated and averaged 30 points a game while conceding just an average of seven from their six encounters.

“It has been my eleventh year at the British Colleges Championships with the Welsh Colleges Girls team and each year the standard of rugby is getting higher and higher,” said Davies, who is also the Welsh Colleges Girls Rugby Coordinator.

“The girls demonstrated some exceptional skill, composure, compassion and zeal throughout the weekend.

“It is an honour to be a part of the squad and exciting to observe the talented individuals coming through the system. Both Daryl and I are proud of the girls and I am excited to see them progress further in their rugby careers.”

Morgan, who has coached the team for the past five seasons, added: “Each year the attitude and application of all the players selected has been fantastic, and this year was no exception.

“The competition was really tough and the players stuck to their task and did everything we asked of them and every one of them made a significant contribution over the weekend. I’m incredibly proud of each one of them and they were a pleasure to coach.

“To win any national competition is difficult, but to win a competition nine years in a row is an incredible achievement and credit has to go to Jenny Davies, she is the driving force behind the Welsh Colleges team.”
