The World Rugby U20 Championship warm-up match will give Strange’s side its first opportunity of a competitive run-out since the U20 Six Nations back in March. Their next match will be against Australia on 31st May, in what will be their first Championship pool game of the competition.
The back three is comprised of fullback Will Talbot-Davies and wings Ryan Conbeer and Owen Lane. Cameron Lewis and Ioan Nicholas will start together in the midfield for the first time at this level; likewise scrum-half Dane Blacker and fly-half Arwel Robson.
Loosehead Tom Mably, hooker Ellis Shipp and tighthead Steff Thomas pack down in the front row. This year’s Wales U18 captain, Will Griffiths, will make his U20 debut, partnering Callum Bradbury in the second row.
Will Jones captains the team from openside, with Shane Lewis-Hughes at blindside and Aled Ward at eight.
Tickets for tomorrow’s match against Scotland U20 at the Brewery Field will cost £5 at the gate, free for U16s. Gates open at 13:00.
