On Wednesday 8th November at 19:30, the two sides meet at the Cardiff Arms Park in a game that will raise money for the Royal British Legion.
Last year, the full Wales Women side were the victors in an entertaining clash at the same venue, meaning UKAF will this year be out to prove a point. It is also an opportunity for the Welsh coaches to cast their eye on some new talent in a year that saw their U18 sevens team impress across several competitions, and a number of promising youngsters handed debuts at the Women’s Rugby World Cup in Ireland.Â
“It is an honour to be playing against the UK Armed Forces once again this year in the lead up to Remembrance Sunday,” said Caroline Spanton, the WRU’s National Manager of Women’s Rugby. “After successfully qualifying for the 2021 World Cup, we are now able to enter this fixture with a Wales Women Development side.
“We’ll use it to support the development of the longer-term programme for the benefit of our future Welsh players. We are looking forward to a competitive game and a great night out at the Arms Park.”
Tickets for UKAF v Wales Women Development are £5 for adults/£1 for U16s, and will be available on the gate.
