The visitors simply couldn’t handle the pace and power of the reigning champions and could only manage one try from Morgan Strong on the stroke of half-time. That made it 21-5 to Sir Gar at the break, but four more tries took them well clear.
Back row men Sam Williams and Gethin Davies were joined by centre Osian Knott in crossing the Bridgend line in the first half and Bradley Roderick added three conversions. In the second half both Williams and Davies scored again and wing Harrison Button and replacement Tom Davies joined them.
The win pushed Sir Gar to within one point of league leaders Coleg Y Cymoedd, who were 31-10 winners over Pembrokeshire Rugby at Neyland to maintain their unbeaten record. They scored five tries as they overcame a ninth minute converted try from the home side to lead 21-10 at the end of a hard-fought first-half.
Flying wing George Thomas, centre Ioan Evans and outside half Rhys Davies ran in first half tries, all of which Davies converted. In the second half there were two more tries from replacement Lloyd Gregory and Evans.
The boot of full back Sam Earl-Jones proved crucial in Coleg Llandrillo’s first win of the season as they held off Llandovery College to win 16-10 at Parc Eirias. Earl-Jones kicked three penalties and converted a crucial try from left wing Jac McGuffie.
Llandovery at least managed to outscore their hosts by two tries to one, with lock Griff Evans and wing Toby Baldwin crossing the home line. Outside half Jack Evans failed with two conversions and a penalty attempt.
Glantaf got off to a flying start at home against Gower College with a try from centre Jay Jones after only two minutes, but then had to wait until the brink of half-time before adding to their lead with a second try from win Iwan Burrows. Outside half Jake Hillman added the extras to make it 12-0 at the break.
Gower were next to score to keep the game in the melting pot as lock Rhys Laugharne crossed for a try that outside half Josh Thomas improved. Scrum half Joe Williams made victory safe for the home side with a try four minutes from time.
In the other Round 4 fixtures, Coleg Gwent beat Whitchurch HS on Tuesday night, while Cardiff & Vale College got back to winning ways after two successive defeats with a 45-19 triumph at Newport HS.
