Up to 150 young rugby players, representing Abercynon, Abercwmboi, Aberdare and Mountain Ash, will make up the nine teams signed up for the event.
Boys and girls of all rugby playing backgrounds and abilities will get a chance to play their part on the pitch, in a fun and inclusive festival led by WRU and Cardiff Blues community teams. Â
The teams join more than 1,000 across Wales signed up to deliver the ‘Half A Game’ initiative, which aims to recruit and retain youngsters in the grassroots game by guaranteeing game time for all – focusing on the rewards of rugby participation rather than the results of individual matches.  Â
The Half a Game campaign is part of the WRU’s overarching remit to engage more people, more often with more enjoyment and more success. Use our up-to-date club finder to contact a club near you.Â
Everyone is invited to cheer on the U7s and U8s this weekend. You can also join in the #HalfAGame conversation on social media via the WRU’s Community Twitter @WRU_Community, where clubs are encouraged to share their photos. Â
