It was another bad night for the Blues North side, who went into the game on the back of a 20-0 derby defeat against Blues South. They have managed only one win and a draw in their seen games to date.
Having won the first meeting between the two sides 25-24 on Blues soil, this was a thoroughly convincing and complete performance from the young Dragons side. They scored four tries in the first half as they raced into a 26-0 lead and then piled on the pressure after the break to plunder another three.
Deon Smith, Matthew Jeffries, Ewan Rosser and Jack Littlejohns crossed in the first half, with Will Reed adding three conversions, while Jake Morgan, Rob Brookson and Luke Shore added second half tries. Jake Morgan kicked two more conversions.
The victory enabled the Dragons to cut the gap at the top of the table to eight points behind the unbeaten Scarlets. Blues North are now one off the bottom.
The Dragons head to Colwyn Bay this weekend to meet RGC 1404 on Sunday before completing their 10 match sequence against Blues South (away on 31 January) and the Ospreys (home on 7 February).
