The 23-year-old has made a big impression off the replacements bench during his first five caps but has pledged to bring the same energy from the start if handed the number two jersey for the final two NatWest Six Nations fixtures against Italy and France
.
Warren Gatland has pledged to tinker with his squad ahead of facing Italy at the Principality Stadium which could result in an opportunity for Dee.
“It would be massive for me and it’s something that I am hungry for but I know that I have a lot of competition for the jersey and I won’t get too far ahead of myself,” said Dee.

“I will just try and train as hard as I can and push for it. I’ve had some good feedback and some stuff that I need to work on. I certainly don’t think we can go into the game making 15 changes, we’ve got a game to win and whatever team goes out there will put in the performance to get a victory.

“If I was to get the start I would just go out to try and do exactly what I have been doing. Try and bring energy, give it my all.”

Being involved in the Six Nations is a dream come true for the in-form Dragons star but after the highs of victory in his first three test appearances the 23-year-old suffered defeats against England and Ireland.
But Dee is confident Wales can put the record straight as over the next two test matches.

“It’s mixed emotions,” he said.
“Personally it’s a really proud moment when I get out onto the field, I am really proud to represent my country.

“But it’s bittersweet because you have the up of being picked and getting on the field but ultimately you want to win and it’s been tough to take the two losses on the trot, so we are going to do everything that we can to put it right. Italy pride themselves on their scrum and driving lineout.

“Italian sides are always big, physical guys. But our gameplan at the moment would move them about a bit and upping the tempo. That would suit us.”
