“Our back-row has got the right mixture of what you need in the modern game,” said Navidi.
“Aaron Shingler brings a lot of athleticism, Moriarty with his ball carrying and physicality and hopefully me over the ball. We’ve worked well together, put in some good performances and they’ve stuck with us. It’s gone well for me since the autumn and then I’ve kicked on into the Six Nations.
“It was nice from the summer to get as much game time as I have. I’m just enjoying every minute that I’m here.”
Following their narrow 12-6 defeat at Twickenham Wales must realistically come away from the Aviva Stadium with the spoils if they are to keep their Championship hopes alive. This fact is not lost on Navidi and the 27-year-old is confident Wales can claim a famous victory in Dublin.
“It’s a must-win game, we need to keep the championship alive and try and take it to the last game,” he said.
It’s the knockout stages really. Every game you win you are pushing for the competition.
“It’s going to be a big old test match for us and for me. I’ve only been to the Aviva Stadium once before with the Blues as a traveling reserve so it will be nice to get out there on a pitch and have a good game against Ireland.
“We are picking from a fully fit squad and going in with a lot of confidence. We’ve had a week off to put the wrongs right and hopefully we will have learnt from the England defeat and we can get a win out there to keep the Championship alive.”
