The game will be played on one of the artificial pitches at Murrayfield, and follows a recent day of games between the Wales U18 Celts and Druids and Scotland’s East and West Academies.Â
Wales U18 coach Geraint Lewis said: “It’s an exciting first game of the season for us, and valuable preparation ahead of our Six Nations tournament which begins at the end of the month.”
Lewis, currently in camp with Wales U20 – who take on Italy tomorrow in Colwyn Bay – said it would be a performance-focused outing for his young charges.
“We’re looking to put into practice the things we’ve worked on in various camps. This team will be at the younger end of the U18 scale: the January cohort, born after 2000. The first international of the season is always an exciting time.
“Sunday will be very much about giving opportunities and introducing as many players to age grade rugby as possible. Scotland always offer a stern challenge because they’re a passionate and well-drilled team. The injection of Exiles into their squad for this encounter will make them a formidable opponent.”
