The 62-times capped Wales pivot visited the official WRU Shop at 98 St Mary Street in Cardiff alongside Dragons centre and fellow countryman Tyler Morgan this morning (Wednesday), to meet fans, sign autographs and chat about this weekend’s Test match.
Wales take on South Africa in the Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium in Washington DC on Saturday evening and Biggar admits he will be glued to the Channel 4 coverage from kick-off, at 10pm UK-time.
The decorated fly-half is hoping for a winning start against the Springboks in front of the American locals and admits Wales will need to be at their very best for the two gruelling Test matches against Argentina which follow, in San Juan and then Sante Fe, on consecutive Saturdays thereafter (both also live on Channel 4, at 8.40pm UK-time).
“I’ll definitely be tuning in and I expect the boys to do well, it should be an exciting game,” said Biggar, speaking ahead of the first Test match of the summer tour, against the Boks.
“The game against South Africa should be a good start for the boys and then the two Tests in Argentina are going to be tough.
“If they can win out there it would be an excellent achievement.
“We have a young squad on tour, but there are lots of boys with lots of experience in the mix too and I fully expect us to do well.
“The squad’s a happy squad, the big aim is obviously the World Cup in 15 months’ time in September and it’s all about keeping fit and keeping form and enjoying your rugby along the way.”
