A host of World Series regulars are joined by prominent names from regional rugby in Lloyd Williams (Cardiff Blues), Cory Allen (Ospreys) and Jared Rosser (Dragons). Youngster Jay Jones’s inclusion is reward for his good form in Rugby Europe this year.
“Exeter is a big building block for us as a squad moving towards the World Cup in two weeks’ time,” said head coach Gareth Williams. “We’ve tailored training towards San Francisco, and this is an important element from a tactical, technical and physical preparation point of view.”
In their pool fixtures on Saturday, Wales take on Portugal (12:36), Germany (14:59) and Spain (18:06): three nations that have proved themselves to be a handful in Rugby Europe (and in Spain’s case, the World Series) this season.
Tickets for this weekend’s action can be purchased here, while the games will be shown exclusively live on Sky Sports Action.
Wales Sevens: Lloyd Evans, Ben Roach, Jared Rosser, Afon Bagshaw, Cai Devine, Owen Jenkins, Luke Treharne, Lloyd Williams, Tom Williams, Cory Allen, Jay Jones, Will Talbot-Davies.
