The 33-times capped Le Roux damaged his knee in Racing 92’s 46-33 Champions Cup victory over the Scarlets last weekend and is likely to be ruled out for up to six weeks as a result. His place in the French squad has gone to club mate Fabien Sanconnie.
The 23-year-old Sanconnie won the first of his four caps against Italy in the 2017 Six Nations and also played in the win over Wales at Stade de France in the infamous 100 minute match. He lat appeared as a replacement against the Al Blacks last summer.
Meanwhile, England have drafted in fit again British & Irish Lions centre Jonathan Joseph into their squad. He will be among the 36 players who head to Portugal this week to prepare for their opening match against reigning champions Ireland in Dublin on 2 February.
