Victory over Ireland at a raucous Principality Stadium on Saturday secured a first tournament clean sweep for Warren Gatland’s side since 2012 and extended their unbeaten run to 14 matches.
In the process head coach Gatland became the first coach to win three Six Nations Grand Slams and Wales are now up to second in World Rugby’s rankings behind New Zealand.
A fine tournament has seen Wales captain Alun Wyn Jones, centre Hadleigh Parkes, full-back Liam Williams and wing Josh Adams all shortlisted to take home the best player award.
Four of the six players nominated are from Wales with England pair Jonny May and Tom Curry completing the list.

Wales skipper Jones led from the front on the way to his third Grand Slam and he is joined by a trio of Welsh backs who all played a key role throughout the championship.
Adams scored crucial tries against Italy, England and Scotland and it was his break that set up a try for Tomos Williams which started Wales’ comeback over France in Paris in round one.
Full-back Williams was assured throughout and finished as the Guinness Six Nations man of the match in the win over England.
He started every game for Wales in the No 15 jersey.
Parkes is the final Wales player shortlisted. He made a telling contribution in the final win over Ireland with his early try and he also put in a sublime try-saving tackle on Jacob Stockdale.
The no-nonsense centre was man of the match in the brutal win over Scotland in round four.
Jones became only the fourth Welshman to win three Six Nations Grand Slams on Saturday, joining Ryan Jones, Adam Jones and Gethin Jenkins in an esteemed club.
Asked where the 2019 Grand Slam ranks among all his phenomenal achievements, Jones said: “It would definitely be up there. I’m very fortunate to have been involved two previous Grand Slams.
“I don’t know whether I’m getting soft in my old age or if it’s when you have kids your perspective changes, but when you see young men come into the side and see them grow over an eight or nine week period, it’s hugely rewarding.
“I can’t tell these guys what to do given the way they’re performing. I’m just really proud for such a small nation to be able to do that. Proud is the word and we just try to show that.
“It’s very simple and that was the message before the game – to be proud and represent who you are.”
